Clements Medical first opened their doors in 2015 as Fairfield Central Medical Practice, a stand-alone GP practice founded by Dr. Michael Clements and his wife, Shannon. As a response to the unique health challenges of the Townsville region, and with a desire to support Defence families and veterans, the practice soon attracted Doctors from all over Australia and overseas, with a broad range of expertise and life experience.

The Clements Medical Group embodies the Clements’ Ethos of doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult. We take a generous, warm, and compassionate approach to our medical care and go above and beyond for our patients. We focus on quality, evidence-based, team care using modern technology in a family medicine environment.

In his work as an RAAF doctor, pilot and medical director at both Ingham and Townsville Hospitals, Dr Clements was well attuned to the health demands of the region. As the region grew, so too did the need for high quality GP care. Within 5 years the Clementses opened Townsville Central Medical Practice in 2019 and Magnetic Island Medical Practice in 2020. Clements Medical has the largest network of GPs in North Queensland with specialisations as remarkable and broad as the region itself. Many of our doctors specialise, which allows us to offer aviation, diving, driver and employment medicals.  Clements Medical provides a wide range of services to the North Queensland region including visiting clinics in remote towns and providing vaccine outreach services to vulnerable communities in the wider Townsville region.
