Aviation Medicals

CASA Aviation Medicals for Class 1, 2, 3 and RPL medicals are conducted by Dr Michael Clements at Fairfield Central Medical Practice. Price is available by calling or contacting our staff.

Dr Michael Clements has been conducting Aviation Medicals for the ADF as a Senior Aviation Medical Officer and for CASA as a DAME since qualifying in 2007. Additionally, as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Aerospace Medicine he is recognised as a Specialist in Aerospace Medicine. Initial aviation medicine training was with the RAAF Centre for Aviation Medicine and then this was followed up with the Diploma of Aviation Medicine with Kings College in London and a six month placement with the RAF Centre for Aviation Medicine in the UK. Upon return to Australia Dr Clements was invited to become a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and completed his fellowship exams in order to become a Fellow of the Australasian College of Aerospace Medicine.

Dr Clements has made several presentations at domestic and international aviation medicine conferences in recent years including: Aviation Fatigue in the deployed Environment AMMA (Melbourne) 2011, Early onset Parkinson's disease - How long can we keep them flying ICASM (Melbourne) 2012 and ASMA (Atlanta) 2012, Islet Cell Transplants for Diabetic Pilots and potential for recertification ASAM (Newcastle) 2011, Clinical and aeromedical implications of Zika Virus (Joint presentation) ASAM (Townsville) 2016.

Dr Clements remains a keen pilot looking for any opportunity to fly around the North Queensland Airspace. He holds a PPL, CSU, Retract, NVFR endorsements and is hoping to complete an IFR rating soon.
